Beyond Numbers: Fostering Successful Primary Care Obesity Management through the Lens of Cultural Humility
Program Description
When people with obesity are provided with evidence-based treatment such as intensive behavioral therapy, medications, or bariatric surgery, they are able to lose weight and may be able to sustain that weight loss. This session will demonstrate how to foster meaningful patient partnerships for sustainable weight through evidence-based interventions. We will explore how to navigate cultural nuances and communication strategies in order to develop personalized care plans, ensuring optimal, person-centered health promotion.

This activity is designed for family medicine physicians and other clinicians treating patients with obesity.

A certificate will be available to you at the end of this activity. You may print the certificate, but you cannot alter it. For information on applicability and acceptance of continuing education credit for this activity, please consult your professional licensing board.
