Description: Obesity currently affects more than 2 in 5 adults in the United States and demonstrates significant associations with cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes (T2D), metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and steatohepatitis (MASH), osteoarthritis, sleep disorders, and reproductive health complications. Obesity care continues to evolve with advancing treatment options, emerging best practices in comorbidity management, and evidence-based guidance on patient-centered approaches, creating new opportunities to improve outcomes for patients living with obesity.

To support clinicians in comprehensive obesity management, this educational initiative will facilitate peer-to-peer learning, case-based discussions, and practical guidance through simulation-based scenarios. Participants will gain enhanced competence in recognizing and managing the relationships between obesity and a range of comorbidities, develop skills in creating individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based pharmacological and lifestyle interventions, and strengthen patient-centered communication strategies that support treatment adherence and improved patient outcomes.
